Dr. (H.C.) Susi Pudjiastuti

Dr. (H.C.) Susi Pudjiastuti was born on January 15, 1965, is a former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries from the 2014-2019 Working Cabinet who is also a business owner and President Director of PT ASI Pudjiastuti Marine Product, an exporter of fishery products and PT ASI Pudjiastuti Aviation or Susi Air flight from West Java. She received an honorary doctorate in Policy, Development, Marine, and Fisheries from Diponegoro University in 2016.

After studying up to junior high school level at SMP Negeri 1 Pangandaran, Susi continued her education at SMA Negeri 1 Yogyakarta, but stopped in class 2 because she was often sick.

During her tenure, Susi was known to be very active in eradicating illegal fishing in Indonesian waters. She did not hesitate to order the sinking of ships, especially foreign ships, that were proven to be stealing fish in Indonesian waters.
